We are Hardyz
In 1927, Mr. Tommy Smith established a hardware and ironmongery store in Tredworth, Gloucester. Over time, the store gained recognition for its diverse range of products, allowing customers to find anything they desired.
In 1985, my father and his siblings took over the business, expanding it into a larger shop while continuing Mr. Smith’s legacy of offering ironmongery and hardware goods. They also introduced various household items and garden furniture, resulting in a prosperous venture. However, with the rise of online shopping and the impact of the 2019 pandemic, the business faced a decline in trade.
In response, my brother and I began selling exotic fruits online, which proved to be a successful endeavor. This success prompted us to open a new business on Barton Street. Unfortunately, many issues & complications compelled us to seek an alternative solutions.
Coincidentally, my father and his siblings were considering retirement, leading to the closure of the hardware store. This closure inspired my brother and me to relocate our business. Drawing from our Zambian heritage and exposure to South African condiments, we decided to stock South African products and a wide variety of exotic fruits from around the world.
